The town of Worcester provided a warm welcome for one Australian couple.
For one Australian couple the Christmas spirit came early on a recent visit to the UK.
Vivienne and Alan Jones, a couple in their 70s, were travelling towards Plymouth on the M5 when they had to make an unscheduled stop in Worcester as Mr Jones became ill.
He was immediately taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital where he spent the next six days recovering. The couple then booked into the Premier Inn, a hotel chain, in Warndon.
The couple found the hotel staff so kind and helpful that they wrote to the local newspaper, the Worcester News, to thank the staff. Mrs Jones said: “It was the best place to be. We thought we’d find angels on the Christmas tree, but we found them at the Premier Inn.
“From the beginning everyone has been so kind and helpful and we just wanted to say a big thank you.”
The hotel were said to be delighted with the couple’s gratitude.
Mr and Mrs Jones who were on a nine week tour of the UK said that they would never forget that part of England where they experienced so much kindness and warmth. “Our sincere thanks to go everybody, along with our best wishes for a wonderful Christmas.”
And with that lovely story we’d like to take this opportunity to wish all our readers and members a very happy Christmas and we hope the warmth and goodwill of the season reaches you all.
