Getting to Uluru couldn't be easier with regular flights now on offer.

Getting to Uluru couldn't be easier with regular flights now on offer.

For travellers wanting to take the easy route to Uluru (Ayres Rock) from Sydney, Virgin Blue have announced they are recommencing their Sydney – Uluru flights.

Visitors to Australia can now hop onto a flight from Sydney straight to Uluru to see one of Australia’s most iconic natural structures, and already the flight service is proving popular, with a strong demand from travellers.

Virgin Blue’s first flight from Sydney to Uluru went earlier this month to a traditional farewell by Indigenous didgeridoo players and dancers. Once they landed at Uluru the pilot of the Boeing 737-800 along with the guests and crew members participated in an authentic Inma along with members of the Mutitjulu community.

Virgin Blue are offering competitive fares from Sydney starting at $199 on way which they say will increase competition and make the journey easier for both domestic and international tourists who want to visit the World Heritage site for the day.

The flights will depart from Sydney at 10.10am and arrive at 1.20pm, giving tourists plenty of time to take in the magnificent and sacred site. Return tickets are available or travellers can choose to spend a little more time in Australia’s Northern Territory.

Uluru is one of Australia’s most visited sites and also the most significant, symbolising the spirit of their ancestors to the indigenous people of Australia. More than 300,000 visitors arrive at Uluru each year and the Virgin Blue flights will make getting to the site a whole lot easier. Visit Virgin Blue for more flight details.
