The new OzPlanner iPhone app for travels to Australia.
Tourism Australia have become the latest company to launch their own application on the bestselling iPhone – the Oz Planner.
Now tourists and visitors planning to travel to Australia can do so with ease by simply accessing their Oz Planner through their iPhone and gaining access to over 20,000 tourism products and services across Australia.
Tourism Australia hope that the new application will make it easier for people planning a holiday to Australia. Those using the OzPlanner app will be able to access 16 suggested journeys around Australia or come up with their own. They will be able to browse through suggested destinations and routes as well as Australian experiences and activities.
Managing Director of Tourism Australia, Andrew McEvoy said that the OzPlanner would make travelling to and around Australia easier and more convenient for those who now rely on portable technology. “Mobile platforms are a great opportunity for Tourism Australia to extend its presence beyond traditional advertising and marketing to showcase the country’s diverse tourism experiences.”
He also stated that potential visitors to Australia will be able to “get a taste of Australia with panoramic images of holiday experiences that will motivate them to plan and book a trip.”
Its convenience also means that rather than have realms of paperwork and endless maps to pour over when planning your Australian holiday, you’ll instead have your itinerary all mapped out on your iPhone and should you want to deviate or change your plans then you’ll have access to thousands of tourism services that will allow you to do just that.
Whether you want to book a hotel or a table in the local restaurant, the app will search out the best suggestions. Should you find yourself lost in the Outback, the app has a built in GPS system that will allow you to pinpoint exactly where you are and where the nearest bar is!
The OzPlanner is just another idea that stemmed from the ComeWalkabout Planner, an online application that allows you to browse through a range of recommended journeys around Australia or even to select the type of trip you like to take in Australia. The online application has gone down a storm with tourisms and we’re sure this new iPhone app will do the same.
