Tourism Queensland announces shortlist

Mike Hawkins | Thursday, March 5th, 2009 at 6:11 pm

After gaining column inches all over the world in January when it launched its search for an “Island Caretaker”, Tourism Queensland have announced the shortlist of fifty candidates still in the running for “the best job in the world.â€?

The fifty, picked from over 34,000, will now be whittled down to ten with a further wildcard place being decided by public vote.

The USA and Australia each have six candidates in the top fifty, but Canada heads the list with seven applicants, three of whom are are the top ten! The final eleven who will be interviewed in Australia will be announced in May.

Just for fun!

Embrace Australia couldn’t resist checking out a few of the applications and can testify the high standard, and also the additiveness of viewing! While not endorsing any candidates we think that:

A big congratulations to all fifty applicants from Embrace Australia!
