Spiderman stops for a chat with office workers in Sydney
Earlier this week, French daredevil Alain Robert climbed the 718ft Royal Bank of Scotland Tower with no safety harness or ropes.
Angering police but cheered on by 200 pedestrians, the man nicknamed “Spiderman” made his way up the 41-storey structure, as office workers looked on astonished.
Police closed off most of the roads in the city block and could only wait for Robert to climb down, and once his feet touched solid ground he was arrested.
The 46-year-old was charged with risking the safety of others by climbing a building and granted bail.
NSW police superintendent Ken Finch said the Frenchman’s antics were “dangerous” and “irresponsible”.
Office workers were more impressed, with one female worker named Peta telling the AAP news agency, “I think it’s really important for people to push the limit, I think it’s an important part of life, going out and doing crazy things.
“It’s absolutely ridiculous, it’s great. I love it.”
Robert has climbed more than 80 buildings around the world in an attempt to raise awareness about climate change, including the Empire State Building, the Sears Tower, Taipei 101 and the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. He has also previously scaled the Sydney Opera House.
