Museums

There are many fascinating museums to visit in Australia. One of the most famous is the National Museum of Australia, the core collection of which is the National Historical Collection, comprising nearly 200,000 objects which represent Australia’s historical and cultural heritage.

Australia’s oldest museum is the Australian Museum in Sydney, which is famed for its natural history and anthropological collection. Another intriguing museum is the National Dinosaur Museum in Canberra, which has a staggering 23 complete dinosaur skeletons, and over 300 displays of individual fossils.

In terms of art, the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra is home to over 100,000 works of art, including some notable aboriginal pieces. There are also some interesting modern art galleries, including the private Soho Art Gallery in Sydney, which showcases works by new, up-and-coming artists.
