
Lance Armstrong's team to make their debut in Australia.
Cycling fans are in for a real treat this month as the Santos Tour Down Under begins in Adelaide with the British team making their world debut!
Team Sky, lead by Sean Yates will be cycling as a professional team at the tour for the first time anywhere in the world. Three highly experienced British cyclists will make up the team, they are; Benjamin Swift, Christopher Froome and Russell Downing who’s still celebrating his recent victory at the Tour of Ireland.
Other cyclists will be Christopher Sutton for Australia; Gregory Henderson for New Zealand; Davide Vigano for Italy and Mathew Hayman for Austria.
Plus in another world debut exclusive, Lance Armstrong will be joining his team, Team RadioShack. He’ll be joined by other previous Tour de France stage winners Yaroslav Popovych from the Ukraine and Gert Steegmans from Belgium.
Nearly three quarters of a million spectators turned up last year to watch Santos Tour Down Under when Lance Armstrong made his cycling comeback and there promises to be even more this year to cheer on both Armstrong and the British team.
Visitors will not only be best placed to watch the action, they’ll also get the unique opportunity to meet their heros in person and get a glimpse of some behind the scenes action.
This spectacular and gripping sports event will take place between the 17th and 24th January, make sure you don’t miss out on this unique event on the sporting calendar!
