Australia Visa Applicants’ Petition to go to DIAC

Lisa Valentine | Friday, November 13th, 2009 at 3:38 pm

Many visa applicants are still frustrated and angry about the September changes.

Many visa applicants are still frustrated and angry about the September changes.

Angry and frustrated Australia visa applicants have launched a petition that urges Senator Chris Evans and the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship to change their minds over the processing priority changes made in September.

The changes made affected everyone hoping to migrate to Australia under the General Skilled Migration program. Many applicants had been assigned Case Officers and were within the process of having their visas finalised.

Those applicants have since been told that their Case Officers can no longer respond to enquiries made about their visa applications.

The petition makes a clear statement to the DIAC saying: “It is unfair to make applicants wait even longer when we are so close to the end of what is a most stressful experience and have already spent thousands on medicals, police clearances and other associated costs which will now go to waste and probably have to be redone.”

It calls on the DIAC to reconsider their decision and apply ‘fair practice’ to the processing priorities in allowing applications that had been assigned Case Officers, to be finalised.

The petition demonstrates the strength of feeling surrounding the changes and the desperation of some of the people caught up in it.

Go to the DIAC petition for your chance to take part and add your name to the growing list.

Hi all,

First of all I would like to thank all of them who has made or signed the petition against DIAC. This is really unfair for the applicants who are already at last stage or allotted case officers or submitted Med’s and PCC’s or having State Sponsorships etc.

This Decision of DIAC really Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaadly effected the people who were in wait of Visas.
I also Urge DIAC to Call Back the changes of 23 Sep 2009 and should give visas to the applicants who are in Wait state. Firstly give visas to older applicants then take files from new applicants.
This will be really FAIR practice for DIAC. The people has Really spent lots of money and even some of them has sold their Cars, houses etc for move to Australia and some has approximately packed their belongings to move to OZ…but all gone in vain.

I again, (Considering everyone’s problem my problem who are in Limbo due to 23 Sep Changes), Request to DIAC and Hon’ble Mr. Chris Evan to Restate or Call back the Changes made on 23 Sep 2009.

Everyone, including me, will give good wishes to Hon’ble Minister and DIAC for doing this.

Again Thanking you EMBRACE AUSTRALIA FORUM.. for telling the truth what is happening at far place Australia….

Regards,
Sagar

This Ministerial Direction No. 42 – Order of consideration – certain Skilled Migration visas is quite misleading because as of date there is yet no 475 visa issued and I doubt if ever one will be issued before 30 June 2010. I believe the time frame on or before 2011 reply is more accurate. The problem really here is the directive not to refund even if you opted to get out of the waiting list. I thought Australia practices the so-called “fair go”. You don’t change the rules in the middle of the game. That is completely unfair.

Refer to the Bill to cap visa, this is totally non-ethical. I gave up my career, sold my house and moved everything to AU. DIAC cannot cease application that they are holding back, the application was made with fully eligibility at time of application. The dept had a sudden decision to hold back application for over 2yrs and now passing such Law is totally unjust, We are made to wait for 2 yrs being our application can be finalised but it is unacceptable to ask people to leave within 28 days.

I have my family with me , how can I start my life/career with over 3-4 yrs gap out of my country. Not to mention how can my 10yrs old daughter cope with 4yrs gap of education system. Please do not allow this LAW to be passed. It will drive us to the wall.

For the future applicants or those willing to apply for Australian Immigration – Beware DIAC is the most suspected and you can never be sure when your application be backlogged, capped & thrown wasting your precious time, your plans ruined.

I’ve recieved the Refund form from DIAC and my application being ceased and capped in the pre september application category subclass BN 136.

All this time I’ve waited planned in vein and now my application is trashed with an instant LAW – of which the victims are a vast number and whom no one cares in Aussie parliament.

DIAC and Aussie Immigrations been the most untrusted and hope this news may go in the world with a huge bad Impact on Aussie Govt. and Immigration Dept.

This labor government has been desperate to save themselves and have no idea of impacts and isn’t thoughtful at all. Most of all has been unethical and unfair, not only with visa applicants but with there own leader Krudd. I would love to see it going out and always stay in opposition. Howard government had better Immigration policies. They always had some transit time for those who applied or were in processing and was thoughtful. Every minister should give IQ test before taking any ministry. It would help all Australains and new immigrants with not having to put up with bad strategies of incompetent minister in the high level ministry.
