The glitzy two-minute video takes you on a whirlwind tour of Australia
The Australian bid to host the football World Cup has got off the ground with the launch of a promotional video called “Come Play!”.
The Australian federation confirmed their intention to bid for either the 2018 or 2022 tournament back in March 2009, and the glitzy two-and-a-half minute advert promoting their plans is the first step in the campaign.
The film starts with the countries most famous footballing son, Harry Kewell, showing off some of his silky skills, before following the football as it is kicked around Australia. On its journey viewers are introduced to every state and territory in which the tournament would be held, with the cities, stadia, outback, wineries, beaches and fans – there is even a cameo from Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd.
